Your wedding ceremony is the heart of your special day. It is a profound expression of the love you share and where it all began. Your ceremony is the kick-off for your entire wedding. For many couples, this is a sacred moment filled with symbolism and traditions, and on the other hand, it is a profession of love and commitment. Most importantly, this is the beginning of your life together and the continuation of your epic love story.
What is a wedding officiant
As you begin searching for your vendors, you realize there is a large variety of officiant services out there. All have varied backgrounds, training, styles, and experience to offer for your wedding. You may ask yourself, what exactly is a wedding officiant? Simply stated, a person who legally performs your wedding ceremony – aka the one who makes it officially official! Whether you’re saying “I Do” in a church, on the beach, or under a canopy of string lights in your backyard, your officiant is the one leading the moment that seals the deal.
Your officiant is more than just a formality, they set the ton for your ceremony. They help guide the flow, share your love story, and ensure all the legal vow and paperwork are done right. Some officiants are religious leaders, while others are non-denominational professionals. You also have the opportunity to have a family member or close friend (who must be ordained) be your officiant.
Pro Tip: Choose someone who gets you. The right officiant will personalize the ceremony, reflect your values, and make your wedding feel like it was made just for you – because it is.

How to Personalize Your Wedding Ceremony
Your ceremony should be as unique as your love story. Personalize your big day by ditching the cookie-cutter script and create a moment that truly reflects who you are as a couple. From the vows you write to the rituals you include, every detail becomes a powerful expression of your journey together. Check out some of the unique ways you can incorporate traditions and personalization into your ceremony.
Personalizing Vows
While traditional vows have their charm and elegance, writing your own promises allow you to convey feelings authentically. Start by sharing your personal anecdotes and commitments to each other. Furthermore, make the moment deeply intimate for both you and your guests. It can be a whispered promise or a bold declaration; this is meant for you and your partner.
Incorporate a Unity Ritual
Unity ceremonies symbolize the joining of two lives. Modern couples are embracing unique rituals like planting a tree together, blending different wines, or creating a piece of art during their ceremony. These acts not only represent your union but also leave you with a lasting keepsake. Our very own I Said Yes FL team member included the Celtic hand fasting ceremony to reflect her husband’s Irish roots.
Involve Loved Ones
Engage your family and friends by inviting them to participate actively. This can happen in various ways, including readings, musical performances, or shared blessings. This involvement adds a layer of meaning and showcases the support and love surrounding your relationship.
Choose Meaningful Music
The song(s) you use in your wedding ceremony have the ability to resonate with your journey together. Whether it’s a live performance of “your song” or instrumental versions of favorites, music sets the emotional tone and reflects your shared tastes. Many local wedding DJs and live entertainment artists have the ability to personalize your music.
Opt for Non-Traditional Seating
You don’t have to stick with tradition. Rethink your ceremony layout and try something unique that sparks your curiosity or excitement. Arrange your seating in a circular formation around you to create an intimate atmosphere. Alternatively, try ditching the traditional rows and go full-on cozy with lounge-style seating. Think vintage sofas, chic loveseats, poufs, and rattan chairs arranged in clusters or semi-circles. It’s perfect for creating a laid-back, intimate vibe that feels more like a stylish garden party than a formal affair.
Ultimately, this is your journey and love story being told to family and friends. Personalize every aspect or stick to tradition; your wedding ceremony should reflect you. With your local wedding vendors, you have the opportunity to create something magical.

Since the cover is actually a real wedding, we feature 2 different styled shoots in the pages of this wedding e-magazine. View the shoot starting on page 17 for a look at a new wedding venue in town, The Black Barn.

This fabulous Orlando wedding is filled with personalized details and stunning views. Above all, it reflects the love and commitment of this beautiful couple. From the unbelievably gorgeous stairway entry to the glowstick exit. Every single element to this wedding is a testament to the future this couple is building together.
Pre-Wedding prep
Unquestionably, the hours leading up to your ceremony can be filled with nerves and anxiety. As well as pure excitement and joy.
Socialite Events, the planner for this real Orlando wedding, shared some of the pre-wedding details. Certainly an important time for this bride to spend with her family and friends.
Starting with the Bride getting ready with her mother and bridesmaids. It’s always such a special moment to see the mother helping her daughter into her wedding dress. And in this instance, her veil as well.
Then the personalized accessories. For instance, a bride hat with matching denim jacket and jeans. Next a personalized purse. Admittedly, we are in love with this purse. I mean, check out this custom Mrs. Calderon clutch. Of course, the champagne. We cannot forget the champagne.
Did we mention the custom purse? We can’t stop drooling over it.
Modern Orlando Wedding Reception
The new Mr & Mrs Calderon hosted their wedding reception in the DeVos Room at the stunning Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Without a doubt, the perfect location for a modern reception, with a hint of glamor.
The bride and groom mixed long black tables with stunning white orchids. Coupled with floating candles and glass chargers. Adding to that, hints of blush in their textured velvet napkins. Along with, a custom monogrammed dance floor. Further the DJ is placed high above the guests. Without a doubt creating a one-of-a-kind reception.
As night falls, Downtown Orlando provides breathtaking views of the city and its lights. For this reason, the Orlando wedding venue has floor to ceiling windows. As a result, The City Beautiful becomes a stunning backdrop at the reception.
Every single detail added to this dream wedding day. Specifically the personalized details found on every possible surface. The Calderons emblazoned their name on everything from the welcome sign, to the photo wall. In fact, it was on the bar and the dance floor too.
rooftop Ceremony
The wedding ceremony took place on the rooftop of the Dr. Phillips Center. For the ceremony the bride and groom choose to mix natural elements of wood with feminine floral pieces. As a result, creating a juxtaposed against the glass and metal elements of the rooftop. Additionally, they included a mix of seating to create interest. Thus giving the guests a comfortable place to sit during the ceremony. Correspondingly they added a custom wooden aisle and altar. Finally, as the bride and groom exited, the couples last name was displayed on a custom made baffle.
But before we can share photos from the ceremony, we must talk about the grand staircase entrance for the bride. Singularly the most exquisite way for a bride to ascend to meet her future husband at the altar.
Grand exit From This Fabulous Orlando Wedding
At the end of the night, The Calderon’s guests gathered downstairs to send them off. Complete with glow sticks. As a result, the couple exited through a tunnel of neon lights. Flanked by their family and friends.
Ending this perfect wedding day, the new Mr & Mrs were whisked away in a Rolls Royce. Unquestionably ready to begin their happily ever after.

The modern theme of this Downtown Orlando wedding was carried out from beginning to end. We cannot leave this post without showcasing the sleek stationery. And finishing with a sweet ending with the 3 tier wedding cake by Bakers Cottage Cakes.
This couple from Orlando, Florida wanted to host a gender reveal wedding reception. Well actually it was during cocktail hour. But before we get to the reveal, we have to talk about this wedding. Because it is absolutely stunning.
A part of me just wants to stop after this fabulous photo by Orpheous Prime Photography. Singularly my favorite photo from this wedding.
wedding Theme
The bride wanted a romantic, yet boho wedding. For this reason, her planner/designer, Vogue Affairs Wedding Planning & Décor, chose some specific items. For instance, lush florals in pinks, reds and white. In addition, gold chairs and soft champagne table linens. Further glass beads and tableware. Coupled with a fully draped ceiling and twinkle lights. Ending with floating candles and soft lighting to set the mood.
Admittedly we think the beachside venue of Paradise Cove Orlando was the perfect backdrop for this romantic wedding. With the soft movement of the water at the lake front ceremony. And an arch with soft white and pink draping. As well as the lush floral accents
Adding to the romance is the soft wood tones and moody lighting in the reception area. Including the beachside fire pit where the couple took a quiet moment alone.
Some Detail Shots Before The Gender Reveal
Without a doubt the photographer took full advantage of this gorgeous setting to grab some detail shots. For example, the wedding dress sparkling in the sun. And the adorable flower girl. Of course the bridesmaids and groomsmen weren’t left out either.
Before we get to the gender reveal shot, the love is in the details of this real wedding. The ring box nodded to their new adventure as Mr. and Mrs. Also with the words, ‘and the two become one’ inscribed on the top. Followed by the bride’s shoes that read I DO on the soles.
Fun Gender Reveal wedding
Since the bride was pregnant, they decided to do a gender reveal wedding. As a result, the happy couple set off smoke bombs during the cocktail reception. Unquestionably, it’s a boy! Congratulations to the newly weds and soon to be parents.
The smoke wasn’t just during the gender reveal. As you can see, the couple had their first dance on a cloud of smoke as well.
Additionally, they had a quiet last dance under the moon and market lights before the grand exit to their new life as husband and wife.
Bride to Bride Advice
We asked the bride, “What do you wish you had known before you began wedding planning? Or what would you have done differently?”
Her response was, “Have a wedding planner from beginning to end.”

This Downtown Orlando Wedding celebrates the love of two college sweethearts. Although both are from Florida, they met in Atlanta, Georgia. The planner, Vogue Affairs, says, even though they are in their 20’s, the embody an old soul. For this reason they chose an old mix of deep jewel tones for their overall theme.
Preparing For I DO
Both the bride and groom prepared for this special day with their loved ones by their sides. First by putting the final touches on their wedding day outfits.
The groom wore a deep green velvet suit jacket accented with gold buttons. Also the jacket had blue edging on the lapel.
In contrast, the bride was adorned in all white with plenty of bling. Starting with her earrings and ending with the shoes. However, her bouquet reflected the moody but vibrant jewel tones in pinks, blues, greens and purples.
Watch closely at the end for the outfit change.
Next the bride and groom were assisted with their wedding day preparation by loved ones. In fact, the bride did a first look with the ladies. And their reaction is priceless. Without a doubt they saw her as the gorgeous bride that she is.
Further, both the men and the women took a few sacred moments to pray over the bride and groom. Preparing them for the vows they are about to pledge.
Lastly, the bride and groom did a first touch. That is to say, a few private moments to quietly reflect on the ceremony ahead. Certainly readying themselves for the act of two becoming one as they say ‘I Do’.
Meet Me At The Altar
Admittedly we are swooning over the reaction from the bride as she walks down the aisle to her groom. Likewise the smile on the grooms face as he sees his bride for the first time. No doubt they are completely and utterly in love with each other.
Continuing the jewel tone wedding theme, the bridesmaids are in deep green gowns. Similar to the bride, their bouquets are in purples, pinks, blues and greens.
In the same vein, the gold ceremony arch is draped in the recurring deep green. Coupled with the beautiful florals by The Coffee Garden Weddings & Events.
downtown orlando wedding views
The Balcony Orlando provided stunning views of The City Beautiful as these two said “I Do”. Of course we cannot move on to the reception until we share the roof top photos. The photographer, Ashley Krug Photography, used the city as the backdrop. Admittedly, we are without words…
Reception Time
Unquestionably the old soul feel of the deep jewel tones was carried all the way through the wedding reception tables. First the dark green linens. Second gold charges with gold flatware and pink napkins. Third gold centerpieces and candleholders. Finishing with the gorgeous florals and the soft glow of candles.
And what is a wedding reception without cake and a first dance. Hence the 3 tier gold and white wedding cake by Valhalla Bakery. Finally kicking of the party time with the newlyweds first dance.
The Grand Exit
After the partying was over, the new Mr. and Mrs. made a grand exit. Complete with city street views and sparklers. As you can see, it was the perfect ending to this Downtown Orlando Wedding.
One last thing, remember that outfit change we mentioned?
This intimate picnic wedding styled shoot has us swooning over this new trend. Start with warm fall colors. Coupled with pumpkins and twinkle lights. Add picnic style seating. And you have our idea of the perfect fall picnic wedding.
A Fall Affair Design
A Picnic Affair Orlando is the designer for this styled shoot. Admittedly, they love fall. For this reason, they created different fall scenes to showcase their “fall feelings” picnic options. In fact, they even had specialty “spooky” glasses made to touch on Halloween. One other thing, as you dream of your wedding theme, consider an intimate picnic wedding.
We asked Sigrid Savoury Platters, the caterer for this shoot, what she loved the most about it. She said, “making the fall vision come true.”
The designer wanted to include everything that gives her the “fall feels”. As a result, there are warm greens and golds. Along with muted oranges and blues. As well as pops of soft pink and ivory. As you can see, all of these fall colors are mixed and matched throughout the styling. Starting with the wooden table flanked with comfy decorated pillows. Next, coordinating sets of colorful chargers, plates and napkins. Finishing with ivory table décor, a printed table runner and of course, some pink desserts.
Intimate Picnic wedding or Rehearsal
Unquestionably your wedding should reflect you as a couple. Consider all the things that make you, you. Above all the people and the things that bring you happiness. Then create your wedding around all of those things. For instance, gather your closest family and friends and plan an intimate picnic wedding. Or host a private rehearsal dinner, in a beautiful field set to celebrate your friendships and relationships. Also use this time to snap pre-wedding photos before the big day jitters.
charcuterie Anyone?
Who doesn’t love a charcuterie feast? Certainly we do and we can’t get enough of how it was served for this styled shoot. That is to say the individually prepared cones filled with all your favorite things. For example, tomatoes, cheese, salami and olives to start. Similarly are the simple but elegant mini desserts by Cami Bakery.
We asked the expert, Sigrid Savoury Platters, for her advice on charcuterie for a wedding. She said, “If you are thinking out of the box on your special day, a charcuterie glass, cone or board will make a perfect fit.” And create a memorable experience for your guests.
picnis aren't just for micro weddings
A Picnic Affair Orlando says, “If you are thinking about having a micro wedding or elopement, consider a picnic. Admittedly, our clients and their guests are in love with the concept of the intimate wedding picnic setting. However, we are also able to accommodate larger groups. Tell us your vision and we will help bring it to life.”
This Florida backyard wedding was a dream come true for the bride and groom. High School sweethearts, Sierra and Gabe, celebrated their love surrounded by their family and closest friends. They prepared their list of non-negotiables and sentimental touches. Picked the perfect backyard wedding venue. Then, along with their wedding planner, created the perfect outdoor wedding.
Wedding Day Non-Negotiables
From the beginning of the wedding planning process, Sierra had a short list of non-negotiables. That is to say, the things that absolutely must be a part of the wedding. First, get married under a tree. Second, market lights. Third, farm tables. Last, lots of greenery and white flowers. As a result, the wedding was exactly as the couple dreamed it would be. For this reason, her advice to you, as a fellow bride, stick to your non-negotiables. In other words, if it is that important to you, don’t negotiate it out of your wedding. Do your wedding, your way.
Light wood farm tables were complimented by gold Chiavari chairs and chargers. Chargers provided by Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals. Additionally softening the room was the floor to ceiling draping. Lastly, the mood was set with the market lights by Get Lit Productions.
Before The wedding
Sierra and Gabe decided not do to a first look. Instead, they wanted their first look to be at the altar. Ultimately where they would join their hearts and their families together as one. Therefore, before the ceremony, they took time for some pre-wedding photos to show off their personal style.
For example, the groom chose a pale blue suit with a tropical lining. His paprika tie coordinated with the girls’ dresses perfectly. And his suspenders matched his groomsmen.
Sierra’s dress is from David’s Bridal and she always knew she would wear tennis shoes under her wedding dress. Adding to her look is the soft, natural hair and make up by Karmel Design Team. To touch on the grooms Irish heritage, the bride’s ring has Celtic knots.
Family is everything
Celebrating their love with family was paramount for this couple. In fact, they included family members in all aspects of this big day. Starting with including their siblings in the wedding party. Along with their dog Koda.
The grooms Irish heritage is very important to him. So during the wedding, the grooms father performed a traditional Irish hand tying ceremony. Further the brides grandfather officiated the wedding.
To demonstrate honor to family members who have passed, the couple added some sweet details. For instance, the yellow flowers were for the grooms grandmother. Likewise the bride’s bouquet was wrapped in a special fabric. It came from the bride’s grandmother’s wedding dress. Added to it was lace from the bride’s great grandmother. Finishing with hand painting by the bride’s grandmother.
Finally, to top it off, this backyard wedding took place on family property.
Sister Squad
Without a doubt, Sierra wanted her sisters to be by her side on this special day. These sisters have been best friends since birth. From silly antics to serious poses, this sister squad is inseparable. Bridesmaids dresses are in paprika from Azazie.
Brothers and the grooms best friends
When choosing his groomsmen, Gabe knew exactly who to ask. Starting with his younger brother Drew. Then including his two best friends. One from childhood and one from college. Surely we can’t forget the best wedding pet attendant, Koda.
Sentimental Touches
Sentimental elements added to the family focus of this Florida backyard wedding. Yellow roses honoring the grooms grandmother. Likewise the bridal bouquet wrap created from family heirlooms. Subsequently, each piece kept loved ones close.
The Ceremony
This wedding was full of sentiment. But also tons of fun and laughter. For instance, the father of the bride snapped a selfie walking to the ceremony with his little girl.
Every girls dream is to have her man love her this much. Certainly there was not a dry eye in the place when the groom saw his bride for the first time. True love is a beautiful thing.
Celebrating the Irish heritage, the grooms father performed a hand tying ceremony. Further the rope was made by the grooms father. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.
Let The Party Begin
After some puppy love, the new Mr. and Mrs. celebrated their marriage with a fun first dance. Likewise, the bride and father of the bride surprised everyone with a choreographed dance of their own. After some food and socializing. It was cake time. Sugar Sugar Cake Boutique provided a beautiful 3 tier wedding cake and gold cake stand.
Before the evening was over, the littlest wedding guest stole the dance floor with his moves. And his killer style.
the perfect ending to a backyard wedding
Absolutely no wedding should end without a sparkler exit by FyerFly Productions. Ending the evening with a true celebration of love and life. Congratulations Sierra and Gabe, may your life be filled with happiness and joy. Let the adventure being.

This perfect wedding Orlando is a real wedding love story filled with sentiment, unique elements and overflowing love. Just Marry! wedding planner, Jessica, got engaged to the love of her life, Alex, just after college graduation in 2019. Without a doubt, they knew they wanted to get married on October 10, 2020. Therefore they immediately added their wedding to the Just Marry! calendar.
Obviously, Jessica, being a wedding planner, enthusiastically jumped into planning her wedding. She understood how important it was to get the venue and vendors she wanted reserved ASAP. Especially for what was becoming a popular date. That is to say 10/10/2020. For this reason, she had most of her details arranged before the calendar even flipped to 2020. Then COVID hit. But that didn’t stop this beautiful couple from having both their wedding date and their perfect wedding Orlando.
As the months of 2020 swept by, Jessica and Alex were forced to postpone for the safety and care of their guests. However, they decided to host a small backyard wedding ceremony on their original date. Along with their closest family members and friends, Jessica and Alex were married on 10/10/2020. But that’s not the end of this love story. Following this, they held their big celebration on July 17, 2021….and it was an event that was worth the wait.
The wedding planning process
Jessica’s planning partner from the Just Marry! team, Mairead, shared some details about the event. Starting with the wedding planning process. In fact, Mairead says, “Little did I know, back in February 2020 when Jessica asked me to coordinate her wedding, that we would become so close. Certainly it is not often that you get to say you coordinated your co-workers wedding. But your best friend as well. Unquestionably this is an experience I will always treasure. Jessica is the most genuine, charismatic and caring person and it showed throughout the entire planning process.”
The Details for this Perfect WEdding Orlando
Breathtaking is an understatement when describing the décor for this wedding. For example, the moment you walked into the reception, you saw the stunning floral provided by Raining Roses. Also, the purple and ivory wedding colors paired nicely with this summer event. Absolutely no detail went untouched. Not overlooking the ceremony accented with more white wedding flowers and the aisle lined with white candles and petals.
Additionally Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals provided a purple sweetheart sofa paired with elegant crystal chargers and stemware. Similarly, the simple but elegant purple place card created by the bride. Each detail came together creating this long awaited dream wedding day.
the first look
First looks give the bride and groom a few moments to get over the wedding day jitters and nervousness. Allowing them to see each other and spend a quiet moment alone, soaking in the sweetness of the ceremony ahead. Another reason this is a perfect wedding Orlando is how Jessica and Alex created their first look. Starting with Jessica approaching Alex from behind. Once she reached him, she turned so they were back to back. Then they held hands for a moment before turning around to see each other. It was truly a lovely moment and beautifully captured by Sydney Morman Photography. Next they had a surprise pet attendant. That is to say, their Jack Russell Terrier, Maddy, joined them. Correspondingly wearing the cutest floral collar and making the best family photos.
Let The Celebration Begin
With ceremony complete and the first look photos taken. Now it’s time to celebrate at this perfect wedding Orlando. As a result, the new Mr. and Mrs. danced to “You Are in Love” by Taylor Swift. Then opened the dance floor to their guests by passing out glow wands. Soundwave Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night long. Moreover the bride changed into a more dance-friendly dress to celebrate the rest of the night.
Finally, as the night came to an end, the couple did a private dance. As a result they will forever cherish the moment created by that special last dance.
