This fabulous Orlando wedding is filled with personalized details and stunning views. Pre-Wedding prep

Unquestionably, the hours leading up to your ceremony can be filled with nerves and anxiety. As well as pure excitement and joy.

Socialite Events, the planner for this real Orlando wedding, shared some of the pre-wedding details. Certainly an important time for this bride to spend with her family and friends.

Starting with the Bride getting ready with her mother and bridesmaids. It’s always such a special moment to see the mother helping her daughter into her wedding dress. And in this instance, her veil as well.

Then the personalized accessories. For instance, a bride hat with matching denim jacket and jeans. Next a personalized purse. Admittedly, we are in love with this purse. I mean, check out this custom Mrs. Calderon clutch. Of course, the champagne. We cannot forget the champagne.

Did we mention the custom purse? We can’t stop drooling over it.

Modern Orlando Wedding Reception

The new Mr & Mrs Calderon hosted their wedding reception in the DeVos Room at the stunning Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Without a doubt, the perfect location for a modern reception, with a hint of glamor.

The bride and groom mixed long black tables with stunning white orchids. Coupled with floating candles and glass chargers. Adding to that, hints of blush in their textured velvet napkins. Along with, a custom monogrammed dance floor. Further the DJ is placed high above the guests. Without a doubt creating a one-of-a-kind reception.

As night falls, Downtown Orlando provides breathtaking views of the city and its lights.  For this reason, the Orlando wedding venue has floor to ceiling windows. As a result, The City Beautiful becomes a stunning backdrop at the reception.

Every single detail added to this dream wedding day. Specifically the personalized details found on every possible surface. The Calderons emblazoned their name on everything from the welcome sign, to the photo wall. In fact, it was on the bar and the dance floor too.

rooftop Ceremony

The wedding ceremony took place on the rooftop of the Dr. Phillips Center. For the ceremony the bride and groom choose to mix natural elements of wood with feminine floral pieces. As a result, creating a juxtaposed against the glass and metal elements of the rooftop. Additionally, they included a mix of seating to create interest. Thus giving the guests a comfortable place to sit during the ceremony. Correspondingly they added a custom wooden aisle and altar.  Finally, as the bride and groom exited, the couples last name was displayed on a custom made baffle.

But before we can share photos from the ceremony, we must talk about the grand staircase entrance for the bride. Singularly the most exquisite way for a bride to ascend to meet her future husband at the altar.

Grand exit From This Fabulous Orlando Wedding

At the end of the night, The Calderon’s guests gathered downstairs to send them off. Complete with glow sticks. As a result, the couple exited through a tunnel of neon lights. Flanked by their family and friends.

Ending this perfect wedding day, the new Mr & Mrs were whisked away in a Rolls Royce. Unquestionably ready to begin their happily ever after.

Central Florida Wedding venue - The Wellvue

Unquestionably, working with Weddings by aVenue means we are going to be treated to the ultimate in attention to detail and care. From the soft pink linens and place settings. To the perfectly pink florals and cake accents. The room was awash with a soft color palette that was both welcoming and comfortable.

In February of 2022 we hosted our monthly event at The Wellvue. This Central Florida wedding venue is the private event space at the Center for Health & Wellbeing. Further, it is an elegant and unique venue. Including a magnificent grand lawn and gardens, free onsite parking, and over 25,000 square feet of event space.

However, the heart of The Wellvue is the exquisitely designed Commons with high ceilings banked in windows. As a result this large gathering space is rich with natural light.

the MEZZ orlando

Hidden in the heart of Downtown Orlando, The MEZZ is perfect for the couple that loves city life. And nightlife. This expansive wedding venue. features wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows. Subsequently providing a sweeping view of the beautiful brick-lined streets below. Of course we must mention the impeccably furnished décor, featuring modern art. Finishing with the innovative LED lighting.

Assuredly the ghost chairs were chosen to reflect the purple lighting. Along with the black linens that set the tone for the moody, jazzy piano bar feel of this event. Certainly a must for this event, is a lounge singer and keyboardist for entertainment. Both provided by iRock Your Party. Whom also provided our DJ and MC services.

No event is complete without food. Indeed we were treated to a delicious menu provided by Puff ‘n Stuff Catering. Consisting of Passed Hors d’oeuvres: herb shipped goat cheese crostini with port poached shaved bosc pears, crushed pistachios. Plus pancetta wrapped date and ahi tartare crisps with wasabi cream.

Also chef stations with Atlantic salmon and carved tomahawk steak. Including aged cheddar mac and cheese. To finish off the night…blueberry shortcake.

the Monroe, a Central Florida Wedding Venue

If you haven’t visited The Monroe in the Creative Village in Downtown Orlando, you are definitely missing out. This unique wedding venue is located on the ground floor of The Julian Apartments.  And is a diverse social gathering place with a main dining room, bar, lounge/study. Plus a backyard patio, semi-private dining area, and daytime coffee bar. Furthering it’s uniqueness are the bold murals that create stunning backdrops for your photos.

As Floridian, we all love to take advantage of beautiful weather and the outdoors. So this event started with specialty drinks on the patio. Then we moved into the main dinning space to have a meal to be remembered.

Chef served us some of their menu favorites.

First Course: White Bean Humus (olive oil, sumac, lavash cracker) | Buttermilk  with honey mustard butter

Second Course: Buttermilk Fried Chicken (tomato, pickled peppers, clothbound cheddar, buttermilk ranch) and The Monroe Burger (double patty smash burger, smoked provolone, secret sauce, pickles, shaved onion, potato bun)

Dessert: Oatmeal Cream Pie and Buttermilk Panna cotta with fresh blueberries and caramelized milk.

While creating your wedding plans, remember to include some of the unique Central Florida wedding venues, like the Monroe. Not only can you have your full ceremony and reception here. But you can also have a shower, bachelor/bachelorette party, just reception or any number of your wedding events.

This lakeside wedding venue was exactly what Martha & TeVaun’s wanted for their outdoor ceremony and reception. Both were held at the Lakeside Enclave in Groveland, Florida. The Lakeside Enclave is a sprawling property that includes a lakefront ceremony area and outdoor covered reception area made of repurposed storage containers. Additionally, there is a quaint and stylish guesthouse on the property. As well as a firepit and lakeside dock area. Without a doubt this property is a nature lover’s dream that celebrates the beauty of Central Florida and its many lakes.

Getting Ready

To get ready on site ,the Bride took advantage of the guest house. Her photographer from M.A.D. Images came early to get photos of her during the hair and makeup process. As a result they were also able to get some beautiful photos of Martha and her Mother putting on her veil. Meanwhile, TeVaun was already dressed and ready. He had photos taken with close family and friends outside while they waited for the ceremony to begin.

Lakeside Wedding Ceremony

The couple had an intimate wedding with 29 guests present. As you can see, the ceremony took place at the lakefront area under the large Oak Tree. Further, the long brick aisleway underneath the trellis made for a gorgeous entrance. One other thing, the couple added a fun triangular arch behind them during the ceremony. The trellis has bougainvillea flowers growing around it and the couple hung beautiful white draping to complete the romantic ceremony look.

cocktail hour

After the ceremony, guests headed over to the cocktail hour area. Allowing the wedding party to take the remainder of their photos. The Lakeside Enclave venue offers ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces all at the same location. Therefore, guests are able to walk to each event space. During this time, Martha & TeVaun’s DJ got the party started while their guests enjoyed some adult beverages and passed appetizers provided by Cocktails Catering.

Dinner & Reception

After Cocktail Hour, guests headed to the covered reception space to get ready for the dinner portion of the evening. The reception space at Lakeside Enclave is like no other. For example, the reception area can seat 150 guests. And has fresh brick paving, as well as, market lights. In fact, the two outsides of the covered area are made up of repurposed storage containers. Admittedly giving a different look than your typical outdoor wedding. Inside the storage containers there are designated spaces for catering staff and buffet, bartender, DJ, and cake. There are cutouts in each storage container so that they operate similar to service windows.

The guests enjoyed the unique setup and the couple had their dance floor in the center of the dinner area. Before dinner, the couple had their first dance as husband and wife. Dinner was served buffet style and provided by Cocktails Catering.

Following the cutting of the cake, the guests enjoyed dancing and cocktails for the remainder of the evening. Even after dark, the cocktail hour and reception area remain well-lit by the market lighting throughout the venue.

This rustic ranch wedding venue provided a stunning backdrop for this real wedding in Apopka, FL. Certainly Club Lake Plantation and its lush landscape and venue options are wonderful just as it is.  However, Brittney and Michael wanted to add their personality into their wedding. For instance, fun glasses, silly photos and socks to name a few.

You and Your I Do Crew

Brittney and Michael spent the morning with their I DO Crews. Without a doubt the bride and her bridesmaids celebrated the day in true style. Starting with monogramed matching outfits. Paired with love shades and of course champagne. Once it was time to get wedding ready, they slipped into their beautiful green gowns.

Similarly, Michael and the gents sported custom suits. In fact, each groomsmen personalized the lining of their suit. Adding to the style of this fun wedding was the groomsmen’s socks.

Rustic Ranch Wedding Venue

Club Lake Plantation is the epitome of rustic ranch wedding venues. The property has two lakes and is surrounded by live oaks and beautiful landscape. Further the outdoor ceremony space provides an unforgettable setting for your perfect wedding day.

Before the ceremony Brittney and Michael did a first look with the lush landscape as the backdrop. Following that, Brittney entered the ceremony through a set of barn doors.

Brittney and Michael added their personal touches to the ceremony in a variety of ways. Starting with the gorgeous white, pink and green florals on the arch. And we absolutely must show off the most amazing flower guy ever!  Who may, or may not, have also passed out beer as he proceeded down the aisle. Coupled with the surprise of the best wedding pet attendants ever, who made quite an entrance of their own. Admittedly one of our favorite wedding ceremonies to date.

For example, the reception was filled with dancing, good times and a celebration of the newly married couple. Ending in a sparkler exit.

invitation Suite

Without a doubt we are in love with the stunning invitation suite by Kait from Bare Lettered Design. The invitation suite was in a beautiful dusty blue color. Just perfect for the shoot. Further, the address on the envelope was hand calligraphy done by Kait. Correspondingly making the invitation suite more personal.

Ceremony set-up

Elise van der Lee, the photographer, said, “The ceremony set up was one of my favorite elements of the shoot. The beautiful hexagon arch was center stage. Coupled with the light colored walls. And the chandeliers. Making the setup so dreamy.”

The arch was decorated with flowers. Likewise a flower-piece was placed on top of some crates that matched the arch. Finally, were the candles and candle holders. Such a beautiful set up to say yes to your best friend!

Matching cupcakes were added to complete the display. Best part of the day, is when the vendors and photographers could try one of the cupcakes.

Love is an Art. Admittedly we think is a top contender for the best wedding theme ever. However, it was also the theme of a recent I Said Yes! event. So great was the theme, that we also turned it into styled shoot. Furthering our ability to share it with you. Indeed to inspire your wedding planning process.

No doubt the wedding planner who designed this event is full of creativity. Unquestionably every single detail reflected the theme. Meet Rebecca, of Live Love Laugh Events. Seriously, even her shirt coordinates.

The Wedding Venue Set The Stage

Obviously we have to start with the wedding venue. That is to say, the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Arts at MOAS. Singularly the perfect location for this Love is an Art theme. For instance, the one-of-a-kind Florida art hanging in the gallery. Coupled with the grand staircase (prime location for your wedding ceremony grand entrance). Then filled with love in the form of dance.

Love is an Art dance performance
first dance example at styled shoot

As aforementioned, a choreographed dance was created especially for this event.  Without a doubt, all were entranced by this pair as they showcased the love of a marriage. Further, two hearts coming together as one. Certainly adding a choreographed dance to your wedding day will bring joy to all those in attendance. Also, it is a wonderful way to build trust and communication as newly weds. According to Oceans Dance Studio.

the Reception Tables

Starting with deep teal linens. Coupled with gold chargers and burnt orange napkins. Adding the soft glow of candles. And finishing with fall colored florals. These reception tables are simple, and elegant. One other thing, the menu cards carried the Love is an Art theme as well.

Pumpkins and Fall colors

Without a doubt each element of this fall-inspired styled shoot was carefully picked and placed. Starting with burnt orange table runners atop wooden farm tables and chairs. Next each table held various pumpkins. For example, blown glass, burlap and painted. Coupled with decorated lanterns and the soft glow of candles. Finishing with ivory linen napkins and wooden napkin rings on white plates with wicker chargers.

This Downtown Orlando Wedding celebrates the love of two college sweethearts. Although both are from Florida, they met in Atlanta, Georgia. The planner, Vogue Affairs, says, even though they are in their 20’s, the embody an old soul. For this reason they chose an old mix of deep jewel tones for their overall theme.

Preparing For I DO

Both the bride and groom prepared for this special day with their loved ones by their sides. First by putting the final touches on their wedding day outfits.

The groom wore a deep green velvet suit jacket accented with gold buttons. Also the jacket had blue edging on the lapel.

In contrast, the bride was adorned in all white with plenty of bling. Starting with her earrings and ending with the shoes. However, her bouquet reflected the moody but vibrant jewel tones in pinks, blues, greens and purples.

Watch closely at the end for the outfit change.

Next the bride and groom were assisted with their wedding day preparation by loved ones. In fact, the bride did a first look with the ladies. And their reaction is priceless. Without a doubt they saw her as the gorgeous bride that she is.

Further, both the men and the women took a few sacred moments to pray over the bride and groom. Preparing them for the vows they are about to pledge.

Lastly, the bride and groom did a first touch. That is to say, a few private moments to quietly reflect on the ceremony ahead. Certainly readying themselves for the act of two becoming one as they say ‘I Do’.

Meet Me At The Altar

Admittedly we are swooning over the reaction from the bride as she walks down the aisle to her groom. Likewise the smile on the grooms face as he sees his bride for the first time. No doubt they are completely and utterly in love with each other.

Continuing the jewel tone wedding theme, the bridesmaids are in deep green gowns. Similar to the bride, their bouquets are in purples, pinks, blues and greens.

In the same vein, the gold ceremony arch is draped in the recurring deep green. Coupled with the beautiful florals by The Coffee Garden Weddings & Events.

The Balcony Orlando provided stunning views of The City Beautiful as these two said “I Do”. Of course we cannot move on to the reception until we share the roof top photos. The photographer, Ashley Krug Photography, used the city as the backdrop. Admittedly, we are without words…

Reception Time

Unquestionably the old soul feel of the deep jewel tones was carried all the way through the wedding reception tables. First the dark green linens. Second gold charges with gold flatware and pink napkins. Third gold centerpieces and candleholders. Finishing with the gorgeous florals and the soft glow of candles.

And what is a wedding reception without cake and a first dance. Hence the 3 tier gold and white wedding cake by Valhalla Bakery. Finally kicking of the party time with the newlyweds first dance.

Why This City Wedding Venue

The concept designer and lead photographer, Nova Imagery, is the driving force behind choosing this city wedding venue. First she wanted modern and contemporary design.  Second choosing the perfect backdrop for a downtown Orlando wedding. Further, finding a location with views of the spectacular Florida sunsets. Without a doubt the Dr. Phillips Center terrace fits all these desired elements.

VIP Wedding Transportation for City Wedding Orlando

Certainly the addition of a sleek luxury vehicle by VIP Wedding Transportation is a must. For sure you should add this to your wedding planning checklist.

Florals and Table Décor

Each décor piece was especially chosen to compliment the black and white luxury theme. For example the brides bouquet and cake florals. As you can see the soft whites of the orchids and roses soften the harshness of the elegant black table setting. Indeed the black plates, flatware and chargers make a statement on the table. Coupled with the black candelabras and linen. Similar to the florals, the crystal stemware and clear table bring in an added modern touch and mirror the glass railing of the terrace.

Admittedly we are in love with the black 3 tier wedding cake by Anna Cakes. Furthermore the softness brought to the cake design by the fresh white roses and simple cake stand, atop the clear table.

top must have shots at your City wedding

Photographer, Elise Van der lee, provided her top 4 must have shots at your wedding. Especially when getting married at a city wedding at the Dr. Phillips Center.

1. Absolutely rooftop pictures when getting married in The City Beautiful.

2. A picture of the bride alone.

3. Likewise a picture of the groom.

4. Specifically at the Dr. Phillips Center. Elise says, “It has multiple gorgeous spots to take pictures. Indeed think about the beautiful stairs, in front of the entrance (with or without your car), in the theater or even at the lounge areas”

Expert Wedding Planning Advice

We asked Elise what advice she has for couples planning a city wedding. She said, “Don’t wait to book your venue and vendors. Generally speaking the best venues and vendors book up fast and this venue is definitely one of the best. Further, make sure you have enough time for sunset pictures on the roof and the spectacular view. Finally, take a moment together to take it all in when you look out over Downtown Orlando.”
