A family heirloom can add a sentimental touch to your wedding day. Certainly there are many ways to include them in your festivities and we believe this real wedding did a wonderful job of honoring their family heritage.

family heirloom ring

The bride says, “A sentimental touch we had in our wedding is the family heirloom ring from my late paternal grandfather. The ring dates back to the early 70s. It was restored with the original band and diamond, and didn’t even need to be resized. I guess I have my grandmother’s fingers! Similarly, I wore my great grandmother’s pearl earrings, adding to the beautiful heirloom details of our day. Additionally, we included a photo memorial table for family members who were only able to attend in spirit.

Involving Family and Heritage

This Florida wedding was filled with love, family involvement and sentiment. For example, the bride’s father is a skilled carpenter. For that reason, he built the wedding arch for the ceremony. (Which can now be rented at their venue, Sugar Mill Country Club).

Also, the groom’s mother was as the officiant of the ceremony.

Further, this couple paid homage to their heritage by including catholic verses in the vows to reflect their families religious ties.

While not actually a family heirloom, the involvement of family members created life long memories for this couple. For instance, the I DO Crew is a combination of many loved ones. Specifically the best man being the groom’s best friend. Further the bride’s mother helped plan every detail.  Also the groom’s mother assisting with organization. Lastly, the groom’s grandparents and aunt traveled from New York just for the wedding. The bride said, “This was very special for us.”

Choosing Your wedding Theme

We asked the couple how they chose their wedding theme. They answered, “We spent months deciding on our wedding theme and colors.  Admittedly, we wanted something unique. Therefore we chose navy and cinnamon for our colors. Because it was festive for the season of our wedding. Personally I struggled with what kind of greenery to go with those colors. After searching Pinterest for days, I found a Bohemian themed wedding with neutral dried floral. Instantly I knew that was it. Chiefly because I planned to make all of the arrangements myself. And the dried floral allowed me to make the arrangements in advance.”

Another reason for the Bohemian style is it reflects their laidback lifestyle and personal taste. This DIY Bride also  made and designed all of the signs, menus, party favors, and name cards to tie in the Boho theme.

Although the wedding theme and florals were Bohemian. The reception tables were a bit more classic. Including white linens, mirror centerpieces and floating candles. Add to that gold accents for a more classy vibe.

wedding planning Advice

Wedding planning is amazing, fun and stressful all at the same time. So we asked this bride to give some wedding planning advice.

“I wish I would have known to simplify my décor search to be more realistic. It turned out beautiful, but I only used about half of the décor I thrifted. This was partially due to freak weather, since there was wind gusts of over 40mph, but I had purchased much more than I needed in retrospect.”

“In particular, I would have put aside more time to get myself ready. I spent so much time running around trying to make sure every detail was perfect, I didn’t give myself more than an hour to get ready. I didn’t get to unwind with my girls in the locker rooms like I had planned. Especially because I was so worried about everything being exactly as I had imagined. I should have let the staff take care of everything without stressing about little things so I could let myself relax.”

“Lastly, my advice is to create a budget and try to stick to it as much as possible. Of course, set time aside for yourself on your special day. And if you’re planning on getting fit for your wedding day, set goals for yourself. I wish I would have spent more time in the gym leading up to our day.”

We thank these newlyweds for sharing their wedding day and wedding planning advice. Adding to the bride’s advice, we suggest hiring a wedding planner.  At minimum for day of, if not more.

This fabulous Orlando wedding is filled with personalized details and stunning views. Above all, it reflects the love and commitment of this beautiful couple.  From the unbelievably gorgeous stairway entry to the glowstick exit. Every single element to this wedding is a testament to the future this couple is building together.

Pre-Wedding prep

Unquestionably, the hours leading up to your ceremony can be filled with nerves and anxiety. As well as pure excitement and joy.

Socialite Events, the planner for this real Orlando wedding, shared some of the pre-wedding details. Certainly an important time for this bride to spend with her family and friends.

Starting with the Bride getting ready with her mother and bridesmaids. It’s always such a special moment to see the mother helping her daughter into her wedding dress. And in this instance, her veil as well.

Then the personalized accessories. For instance, a bride hat with matching denim jacket and jeans. Next a personalized purse. Admittedly, we are in love with this purse. I mean, check out this custom Mrs. Calderon clutch. Of course, the champagne. We cannot forget the champagne.

Did we mention the custom purse? We can’t stop drooling over it.

Modern Orlando Wedding Reception

The new Mr & Mrs Calderon hosted their wedding reception in the DeVos Room at the stunning Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Without a doubt, the perfect location for a modern reception, with a hint of glamor.

The bride and groom mixed long black tables with stunning white orchids. Coupled with floating candles and glass chargers. Adding to that, hints of blush in their textured velvet napkins. Along with, a custom monogrammed dance floor. Further the DJ is placed high above the guests. Without a doubt creating a one-of-a-kind reception.

As night falls, Downtown Orlando provides breathtaking views of the city and its lights.  For this reason, the Orlando wedding venue has floor to ceiling windows. As a result, The City Beautiful becomes a stunning backdrop at the reception.

Every single detail added to this dream wedding day. Specifically the personalized details found on every possible surface. The Calderons emblazoned their name on everything from the welcome sign, to the photo wall. In fact, it was on the bar and the dance floor too.

rooftop Ceremony

The wedding ceremony took place on the rooftop of the Dr. Phillips Center. For the ceremony the bride and groom choose to mix natural elements of wood with feminine floral pieces. As a result, creating a juxtaposed against the glass and metal elements of the rooftop. Additionally, they included a mix of seating to create interest. Thus giving the guests a comfortable place to sit during the ceremony. Correspondingly they added a custom wooden aisle and altar.  Finally, as the bride and groom exited, the couples last name was displayed on a custom made baffle.

But before we can share photos from the ceremony, we must talk about the grand staircase entrance for the bride. Singularly the most exquisite way for a bride to ascend to meet her future husband at the altar.

Ending this perfect wedding day, the new Mr & Mrs were whisked away in a Rolls Royce. Unquestionably ready to begin their happily ever after.

This lakeside wedding venue was exactly what Martha & TeVaun’s wanted for their outdoor ceremony and reception. Both were held at the Lakeside Enclave in Groveland, Florida. The Lakeside Enclave is a sprawling property that includes a lakefront ceremony area and outdoor covered reception area made of repurposed storage containers. Additionally, there is a quaint and stylish guesthouse on the property. As well as a firepit and lakeside dock area. Without a doubt this property is a nature lover’s dream that celebrates the beauty of Central Florida and its many lakes.

Getting Ready

To get ready on site ,the Bride took advantage of the guest house. Her photographer from M.A.D. Images came early to get photos of her during the hair and makeup process. As a result they were also able to get some beautiful photos of Martha and her Mother putting on her veil. Meanwhile, TeVaun was already dressed and ready. He had photos taken with close family and friends outside while they waited for the ceremony to begin.

Lakeside Wedding Ceremony

The couple had an intimate wedding with 29 guests present. As you can see, the ceremony took place at the lakefront area under the large Oak Tree. Further, the long brick aisleway underneath the trellis made for a gorgeous entrance. One other thing, the couple added a fun triangular arch behind them during the ceremony. The trellis has bougainvillea flowers growing around it and the couple hung beautiful white draping to complete the romantic ceremony look.

After the ceremony, guests headed over to the cocktail hour area. Allowing the wedding party to take the remainder of their photos. The Lakeside Enclave venue offers ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces all at the same location. Therefore, guests are able to walk to each event space. During this time, Martha & TeVaun’s DJ got the party started while their guests enjoyed some adult beverages and passed appetizers provided by Cocktails Catering.

Dinner & Reception

After Cocktail Hour, guests headed to the covered reception space to get ready for the dinner portion of the evening. The reception space at Lakeside Enclave is like no other. For example, the reception area can seat 150 guests. And has fresh brick paving, as well as, market lights. In fact, the two outsides of the covered area are made up of repurposed storage containers. Admittedly giving a different look than your typical outdoor wedding. Inside the storage containers there are designated spaces for catering staff and buffet, bartender, DJ, and cake. There are cutouts in each storage container so that they operate similar to service windows.

The guests enjoyed the unique setup and the couple had their dance floor in the center of the dinner area. Before dinner, the couple had their first dance as husband and wife. Dinner was served buffet style and provided by Cocktails Catering.

This rustic ranch wedding venue provided a stunning backdrop for this real wedding in Apopka, FL. Certainly Club Lake Plantation and its lush landscape and venue options are wonderful just as it is.  However, Brittney and Michael wanted to add their personality into their wedding. For instance, fun glasses, silly photos and socks to name a few.

You and Your I Do Crew

Brittney and Michael spent the morning with their I DO Crews. Without a doubt the bride and her bridesmaids celebrated the day in true style. Starting with monogramed matching outfits. Paired with love shades and of course champagne. Once it was time to get wedding ready, they slipped into their beautiful green gowns.

Similarly, Michael and the gents sported custom suits. In fact, each groomsmen personalized the lining of their suit. Adding to the style of this fun wedding was the groomsmen’s socks.

Rustic Ranch Wedding Venue

Club Lake Plantation is the epitome of rustic ranch wedding venues. The property has two lakes and is surrounded by live oaks and beautiful landscape. Further the outdoor ceremony space provides an unforgettable setting for your perfect wedding day.

Before the ceremony Brittney and Michael did a first look with the lush landscape as the backdrop. Following that, Brittney entered the ceremony through a set of barn doors.

Brittney and Michael added their personal touches to the ceremony in a variety of ways. Starting with the gorgeous white, pink and green florals on the arch. And we absolutely must show off the most amazing flower guy ever!  Who may, or may not, have also passed out beer as he proceeded down the aisle. Coupled with the surprise of the best wedding pet attendants ever, who made quite an entrance of their own. Admittedly one of our favorite wedding ceremonies to date.

wedding Theme

The bride wanted a romantic, yet boho wedding. For this reason, her planner/designer, Vogue Affairs Wedding Planning & Décor, chose some specific items. For instance, lush florals in pinks, reds and white. In addition, gold chairs and soft champagne table linens. Further glass beads and tableware. Coupled with a fully draped ceiling and twinkle lights. Ending with floating candles and soft lighting to set the mood.

Admittedly we think the beachside venue of Paradise Cove Orlando was the perfect backdrop for this romantic wedding. With the soft movement of the water at the lake front ceremony. And an arch with soft white and pink draping. As well as the lush floral accents

Since the bride was pregnant, they decided to do a gender reveal wedding. As a result, the happy couple set off smoke bombs during the cocktail reception. Unquestionably, it’s a boy! Congratulations to the newly weds and soon to be parents.

The smoke wasn’t just during the gender reveal. As you can see, the couple had their first dance on a cloud of smoke as well.

Old, new, borrowed, and blue is the theme that resonated throughout this real wedding in Tampa, FL. No doubt family is extremely valuable to Heather and Hunter. In fact, their families came down from Missouri to celebrate the couple’s union. Unquestionably this intimate destination wedding created priceless memories for everyone involved.

Something old new borrowed and blue

Admittedly our favorite part of this real wedding is the sentimental wedding jewelry. In this situation, Heather’s something borrowed included her grandmother’s ring. Likewise it was also her something old and something blue. Similarly she wore earrings borrowed from her mother and sister. In addition, Hunter’s wedding day gift to Heather was a new bracelet.

wedding ceremony under a tent

Certainly you wouldn’t know it by looking at it. But Safety Harbor Resort and Spa offers an indoor-outdoor solution to the Florida heat. In this situation, they have a climate-controlled tent. As you can see, it is beautifully draped in white from ceiling to floor. Subsequently creating a view of a lush Florida landscape while in the comfort of air conditioning. As well as a ceremony location that looks more luxurious than tent like.

Heather’s bridal bouquet was complete with blush and white roses. Coupled with eucalyptus greenery. Identically the arch was decorated with blush and white florals. Further coordinating with the bouquets and soft blush dresses of the bridesmaids.

This Downtown Orlando Wedding celebrates the love of two college sweethearts. Although both are from Florida, they met in Atlanta, Georgia. The planner, Vogue Affairs, says, even though they are in their 20’s, the embody an old soul. For this reason they chose an old mix of deep jewel tones for their overall theme.

Preparing For I DO

Both the bride and groom prepared for this special day with their loved ones by their sides. First by putting the final touches on their wedding day outfits.

The groom wore a deep green velvet suit jacket accented with gold buttons. Also the jacket had blue edging on the lapel.

In contrast, the bride was adorned in all white with plenty of bling. Starting with her earrings and ending with the shoes. However, her bouquet reflected the moody but vibrant jewel tones in pinks, blues, greens and purples.

Watch closely at the end for the outfit change.

Next the bride and groom were assisted with their wedding day preparation by loved ones. In fact, the bride did a first look with the ladies. And their reaction is priceless. Without a doubt they saw her as the gorgeous bride that she is.

Further, both the men and the women took a few sacred moments to pray over the bride and groom. Preparing them for the vows they are about to pledge.

Lastly, the bride and groom did a first touch. That is to say, a few private moments to quietly reflect on the ceremony ahead. Certainly readying themselves for the act of two becoming one as they say ‘I Do’.

Meet Me At The Altar

Admittedly we are swooning over the reaction from the bride as she walks down the aisle to her groom. Likewise the smile on the grooms face as he sees his bride for the first time. No doubt they are completely and utterly in love with each other.

Continuing the jewel tone wedding theme, the bridesmaids are in deep green gowns. Similar to the bride, their bouquets are in purples, pinks, blues and greens.

In the same vein, the gold ceremony arch is draped in the recurring deep green. Coupled with the beautiful florals by The Coffee Garden Weddings & Events.

The Balcony Orlando provided stunning views of The City Beautiful as these two said “I Do”. Of course we cannot move on to the reception until we share the roof top photos. The photographer, Ashley Krug Photography, used the city as the backdrop. Admittedly, we are without words…

Reception Time

Unquestionably the old soul feel of the deep jewel tones was carried all the way through the wedding reception tables. First the dark green linens. Second gold charges with gold flatware and pink napkins. Third gold centerpieces and candleholders. Finishing with the gorgeous florals and the soft glow of candles.

And what is a wedding reception without cake and a first dance. Hence the 3 tier gold and white wedding cake by Valhalla Bakery. Finally kicking of the party time with the newlyweds first dance.

perfect photo spots everywhere

Unquestionably the Sandpearl Resort Clearwater Beach was an excellent choice for this couples wedding venue. Because it offers both indoor and outdoor options with stunning views of the beach and the ocean beyond. For this reason, Ruthann and Tony were blessed with a variety of perfect photo spots for their wedding memories.

Starting with the sweet first look. Admittedly this artwork is the photographers favorite indoor spot. Next the ceremony was performed on the lawn, overlooking the gulf. In fact, you don’t even have to touch the sand if you don’t want to.  Third, the happy couples family and friends posed for a fun photo on the balconies. Above all, the sunset photos on the beach of just Ruthann and Tony.

Intimate Sunset Beach wedding Ceremony

Along with their closest friends and family, Ruthann and Tony said I Do at their intimate sunset beach wedding. Before the wedding they enjoyed time with their friends celebrating the joy of the day. In fact, one of their dearest friends officiated the wedding. As a result, right before Tony walked down the aisle, they stopped and said a quick prayer.

The tropical palm leaves with the bright pinks and oranges looked amazing on the arch. And we can’t forget the sounds and colors of the ocean in the background. Likewise the florals by Artistry Designs Group made a colorful statement against Ruthann’s white wedding dress.

After the gorgeous ceremony, they moved inside for the wedding reception. Of course the pink and orange florals were used to adorn the table. Similarly a single flower was placed on each pink napkin. Then set on top of  gold charges. Coupled with white chairs and table linens, this wedding reception was a beautiful reflection of the couples love. Furthermore, sushi was served as an appetizer. Certainly fitting to the sunset beach wedding theme.

This Florida backyard wedding was a dream come true for the bride and groom.  High School sweethearts, Sierra and Gabe, celebrated their love surrounded by their family and closest friends.  They prepared their list of non-negotiables and sentimental touches. Picked the perfect backyard wedding venue. Then, along with their wedding planner, created the perfect outdoor wedding.

married under a tree at backyard wedding

Wedding Day Non-Negotiables

From the beginning of the wedding planning process, Sierra had a short list of non-negotiables. That is to say, the things that absolutely must be a part of the wedding. First, get married under a tree. Second, market lights. Third, farm tables. Last, lots of greenery and white flowers. As a result, the wedding was exactly as the couple dreamed it would be. For this reason, her advice to you, as a fellow bride, stick to your non-negotiables. In other words, if it is that important to you, don’t negotiate it out of your wedding. Do your wedding, your way.

Light wood farm tables were complimented by gold Chiavari chairs and chargers. Chargers provided by Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals. Additionally softening the room was the floor to ceiling draping. Lastly, the mood was set with the market lights by Get Lit Productions

Before The wedding

Sierra and Gabe decided not do to a first look. Instead, they wanted their first look to be at the altar. Ultimately where they would join their hearts and their families together as one. Therefore, before the ceremony, they took time for some pre-wedding photos to show off their personal style.

For example, the groom chose a pale blue suit with a tropical lining. His paprika tie coordinated with the girls’ dresses perfectly. And his suspenders matched his groomsmen.

Sierra’s dress is from David’s Bridal and she always knew she would wear tennis shoes under her wedding dress. Adding to her look is the soft, natural hair and make up by Karmel Design Team. To touch on the grooms Irish heritage, the bride’s ring has Celtic knots.

Family is everything

Celebrating their love with family was paramount for this couple. In fact, they included family members in all aspects of this big day. Starting with including their siblings in the wedding party. Along with their dog Koda.

The grooms Irish heritage is very important to him. So during the wedding, the grooms father performed a traditional Irish hand tying ceremony.  Further the brides grandfather officiated the wedding.

To demonstrate honor to family members who have passed, the couple added some sweet details. For instance, the yellow flowers were for the grooms grandmother. Likewise the bride’s bouquet was wrapped in a special fabric. It came from the bride’s grandmother’s wedding dress. Added to it was lace from the bride’s great grandmother. Finishing with hand painting by the bride’s grandmother.

Finally, to top it off, this backyard wedding took place on family property.

Sister Squad

Without a doubt, Sierra wanted her sisters to be by her side on this special day. These sisters have been best friends since birth. From silly antics to serious poses, this sister squad is inseparable. Bridesmaids dresses are in paprika from Azazie

Brothers and the grooms best friends

When choosing his groomsmen, Gabe knew exactly who to ask.  Starting with his younger brother Drew. Then including his two best friends. One from childhood and one from college. Surely we can’t forget the best wedding pet attendant, Koda.

Sentimental Touches

Sentimental elements added to the family focus of this Florida backyard wedding. Yellow roses honoring the grooms grandmother. Likewise the bridal bouquet wrap created from family heirlooms. Subsequently, each piece kept loved ones close.

The Ceremony

This wedding was full of sentiment. But also tons of fun and laughter. For instance, the father of the bride snapped a selfie walking to the ceremony with his little girl.

Every girls dream is to have her man love her this much. Certainly there was not a dry eye in the place when the groom saw his bride for the first time. True love is a beautiful thing.

Celebrating the Irish heritage, the grooms father performed a hand tying ceremony. Further the rope was made by the grooms father. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

Let The Party Begin

After some puppy love, the new Mr. and Mrs. celebrated their marriage with a fun first dance. Likewise, the bride and father of the bride surprised everyone with a choreographed dance of their own. After some food and socializing.  It was cake time. Sugar Sugar Cake Boutique provided a beautiful 3 tier wedding cake and gold cake stand.

Before the evening was over, the littlest wedding guest stole the dance floor with his moves. And his killer style.
